I started learning ballet as an adult, not having taken any dance classes as a child, and I’m so happy to have found Contemporary School of Dance as my studio. The teachers are outstanding: knowledgeable, professional, and caring.  The classes emphasize both artistry and athleticism, and the teachers encourage us to do our best, whatever our level.   There is a beautiful sense of community, and the atmosphere in the classes is friendly and relaxed. Most importantly I have always felt supported and like I belong even though I’m not the most talented student in the class.

– An Adult Student

This is my first year at CSD—a very oldie in the adult tap. I just wanted to tell you how much I loved the Humanities Theatre show. I love dance, and I teared up several times during the performance. What splendid choreography and accomplishments from the students, and such creativity and dedication from the teachers. It was all so moving for me.  One of my favorite moments was the time you took naming the students with perfect attendance. It’s so very classy to take dance as seriously as it should be taken—and to set that bar and example for the students and parents, and all with love. Thank you!!  You’ll never manage to get me dancing like Savion Glover, but I’m taking great pleasure in the attempt. Many, many thanks for your work.
