Hip Hop

Hip Hop has evolved from a style of street jazz and is primarily performed to hip hop music.  It includes a wide range of styles, including breaking, locking, and popping, which were created in the 1970s.

The commercialization of hip hop dance in music videos, movies, and tv shows has made hip hop dance very popular.

Students in Grade 3 (or higher) level of Jazz, Tap or Ballet are eligible to take hip hop.    Students no longer have to take jazz in order to take hip hop classes, but a jazz background is strongly recommended.

Please see current schedule for class times.  Maximum Class Size: 16 students
